Jeanie Garrison is a full time professional artist who has been painting since 1987. She has a B.S. degree in Studio Art from Skidmore College followed by a two-year internship at the New York State Office of Historic Preservation at Peebles Island, Cohoes, New York where she learned art conservation and restoration techniques. Jeanie's projects consist of specialized commercial and residential painting which includes designing and painting murals, trompe l’oeil, wood graining, marbleizing, decorative painting, stenciling, faux painting and wall treatments.

Among her many notable commercial projects are:

restoration painting of the East and West Assembly Gallery ceilings at the New York State Capitol, Albany, NY

re-creation and painting of the original stencil in the New York State Capitol Assembly Parlor

restoration painting, re-graining and stenciling of the fire damaged DeWitt Clinton Hotel ceiling (c.1921) in Albany, NY

restoration of the marbleized columns in the Rennselaer County Courthouse (c.1912) Troy, NY

re-graining of courtroom ceiling panels, marbleizing door header to match Travertine marble panels, painting wall treatments in the chief clerks’ rooms and judges’ chamber in the Court of Appeals, Albany, NY

• designing and painting ceiling mural in the SUNY-Rockefeller Institute of Government, Albany, NY


Notable residential restoration projects include:

repair and in-painting of European wall mural (age: 300 yrs.)

repair and restoration of 100-year old anaglypta wall paper.


In 2002, Jeanie Garrison was awarded the Albany Times Union “Best Interior Trompe L’oeil Artist.” She has extensive experience, enjoys working with homeowners, designers and contractors and will provide references upon request.
